Boop. I will mention this also. Pewdipie has been a great inspiration, especially since he said he was not enjoyin youtube and hated his work. It was for show, fake, his reactions in his videos were for the views/ratings.

Now, he is creating things the way he wants and that he beleives in. He is more relaxed, says what he wants to say. And we can see the change. He is himself and a lot funnier.
It is a very encouraging thing to know that people like your art. But what if they don't? People can lie, they can also be purposefully discourgaing, and there will always be a divide: some will like your work and some won't.

If you want to draw, draw.

If you are going to do a lot of work, do a lot. If you are't, then don't.

I thought you were going to say people don't like your art or you don't like it or something along those lines.

I think you have some pretty darn cool work. I especially like the cortex peices. They capture his character well and look great.

I am going to say it now because there is quite a bit below. If someone tells you to stop doing something because you are not good at it...who is to say you cannot become better? If you stop, you cannot become better in the first place. You definitely have a lot going so far. And really what is deviantart? It is just a method of publicising your art. You could keep your art to yourself and beleiev in what you do and/or you could have a lot of feedback from those around you. It is a very encouraging thing to know that people like your art. But what if they don't? With discernment you can know that you have something going, and if that is where you are wanting to go, you want to draw, then do it.

I know I have to draw more often and also have to develop a variety of skills at the same time. I also have not uploaded anything for the last four years. I have, but, it is bits and pieces. This took me two/three months. The sSonic one, I started and had to wait a year until I was back on holidays and wanted to tackle the final phases. Right now, I have a photo that I was doing just before the holidays were over and is needing the smudges and things cleaned up, and I need to get back to. I really like the photo and will not discard it.

It really is will power. You could hide your art. Then you could either come out, or someone could discoer it if you left it behind (travelling, deceased, throw it away, sold it). You could have thought it was terrible. But by the time you show it, since you have developed so much by that point, people would ask, "where did this man come from?" As I have said but never ... aloud ... is, the best isn't the popular, the best may in fact be out of sight.

Here is the first thing I decided to upload.

This is a piece I did for a year 9 gamemaker assignment. It's a title screen or a poster.
The one on the left is the final and the one in the middle is how it looked after I decided to complete the one on the far right a year later. I finished it to prove something to myself. I felt frustrated doing it in Photoshop. It wasn't workinging. Instead I traced a drawing in Flash.

This wasn't the best I could do, but I called it "phoshop capability". I decided to list in the description some of the best works I have produced since.
