Please Help: Journaling of Findings

I’m making a journal that will present where I want to go with art and animation. I will analyse my awesome finds (animations, series, artworks, role model artists, styles etc.) to understand what it is about them that appeals to me and why I think they work well. I want to incorporate their unique attributes (e.g. editing techniques, cinematography, colour scheming, line art) into my own work.

I do not fully know how I am going to document the work. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice. What would be the best way to present to yourself what you have found making sure you have a mirror copy and citations without going overboard?

If you have an idea, please comment. Thanks in advance for any help.

Note: It is going to be a power point in a folder with mirrored files in parallel subfolders. These works will be from anywhere and can include art from Deviant Art.
